A Letter from Dr. Whalen

Hello, Myrtle Beach!

I’m Dr. Michael Whalen, the new owner of Grande Dunes Dental. I recently took over from Dr. Chuck Corbett, whose patient-first values reflect my own. Like him, I believe great dentistry starts with education, connection, and treating people with care and respect.

My fiancée, Kiley, and I moved here after a hot Phoenix summer made us crave a coastal community. After a year in private practice in Concord, NC, we visited Myrtle Beach and knew we’d found home.

I earned my DDS from UNC Chapel Hill and completed a residency serving the Navajo Nation, where I gained advanced training and a deep respect for accessible care. I’ve continued to grow my skills and volunteer through Missions of Mercy, Give Kids a Smile, and trips to the Dominican Republic.

Outside dentistry, I enjoy traveling, snowboarding, gardening, and time with our dogs, Marty and Benzi. Kiley and I are excited to care for this community with skill, heart, and gratitude.
